Bleh! The only thing good was the baked potato. The sirloin tips were not tender ... Had no flavor ... And for the money the portion was measly. Desserts were not worth the bother. They need new recipes.

A step above old country buffet quality but 2 stars was taken away for giving me a piss poor cut of ribeye that was ordered medium rare. It was well done the first time and they forgot the baked potato. 2nd time the steak came way too much fat and the muscle actually was segregated. It was medium but I was tired of waiting and just said it was fine as I just gave up. The edges look like a razor saw blade. No kidding. The good bits of buffet items were bone dry for a long spell before they brought out more. And the kicker is. .... 45 minutes later I still am waiting for my baked potato. Its not the waitstaffs fault! We overheard several patrons complain about their missing potatoes and buffet food. Our poor waitress was running around trying the best she could. We saw all of waitstaff doing the best they could. Maybe this was a bad shift for the cookline for a Sunday night. Changed to 5 star for decent manager and he reimbursed everybody that came to the register. Will definely come back and give them another shot. Thanks!

My mother always told me, if you can't say anything nice, don't say anything at all. Ok, then. The waitress was attentive and sweet. There was a nice variety of toppings for the ice cream. Ok, you are on your own now.

Absolute worst buffet i have ever had. How can u charge people $13 for 2 tiny buffet stands!!! There is nothing worth eating on it. I will snap some photos to show you!! Golden correl is a palace compared to here which is outrageous to even say!! Im so disappointed we used to come here as kids and it was a very large great buffet for less money now its gone to crap! If your going to be serving this kind of food the price should be $10 even at least you will have an idea of what your paying for. It took them 30 mins to bring our entree which ended up being taken back again the fried shrimp was over cooked how do you mess up fried shrimp? Then my sirloin was way undercooked so both got sent back to the kitchen. We will see our entress in another 30 mins thanks pondersa!!!

This particular Ponderosa was really impressive in that it was very clean and new looking (I guess it had been refurbished somewhat recently, and it looked nice), and the very friendly staff. I wish I had taken some pictures to show you just how nice this place looks... maybe I'm just used to the much more "ratty" looking Ponderosa's in the Metro Detroit area? As for the food, I can't complain at all. It was all quite good (I particularly like their meatloaf) and there was plenty to choose from. You really don't need to order anything except the buffet, as there is more than enough choices to keep you happy with just that. However, if you DO want to order a steak (or one of their other choices), you can add the buffet to your meal for just a bit more... it's really a good deal either way you go. The buffet that Ponderosa puts on is much better than what your local "Big Boy" ever does. I want to state once more just how nice and friendly the staff was at this particular location. We drove up into the parking lot just a few minutes before 9 p.m. (closing) and one of the employees was starting to shut the front doors, but when she saw us she said "C'mon IN" in such a nice and welcoming tone... well... we just HAD to go for it at that point! Then, when inside, our server was also extremely friendly and playful, making the whole experience that much nicer... what a treat! You don't normally expect such nice and kind employees (especially in these days and times), but the employees at this location just seem to actually CARE... and that makes ALL the difference for me, every time! Kudos to the manager of this place for making it such a fun working environment! If you're ever traveling along I-75 (perhaps on your way to someplace in northern Michigan or the U.P.) and you find yourself getting close to the "West Branch" exit... this place is worth a stop. There's also an Outlet Mall at this exit (giving you another reason to stop). It's not the size of the Birch Run location, but it's still worth a look. Oh... and for some reason the map on here shows this Ponderosa location as being "south" of I-75, but it's actually "north" of I-75 once you get off of the expressway.
